In March or April we often travel to Palm Desert to escape the winter chill in Ashland. There are a number of hikes we love. The photo above is in Palm Canyon, on the Agua Caliente tribal land. The water was flowing due to the many springs that dot this dry landscape.

Our dear friend, MaryLou, bought a oceanfront home in Brookings recently. The weekend we went over for the first time it was beautifully sunny the first day and then blustery the second. Beautiful, changeable weather makes the unpredictable Oregon coast amazing. The house sits up on the bluff above the ocean with a short, easy walk to the beach.
